Waterfalls

Album: National Park Krka, Region: National Parks

The source of the Krka River is at the base of the Dinaric Mountains, 3.5 kilometers northeast of the base of Knin and 22 meters below Topoljski Slap, Veliki Buk and Krčić Slap, which are noisy cascades in the winter but run dry during the summer. Krka National Park is an even more extensive series of lakes and waterfalls than Plitvice. The Zrmanja, Krka, Cetina and Neretva Rivers form waterfalls, but Manojlovac's power plant upstream can interfere with the How, which can slow considerably in July or August. Croatia have 472 sq km of national park on land and 224 km that compose the Kornati Islands.
