45th Festival of Folk Music and Dance of the Pula Region - Barban

45th Festival of Folk Music and Dance of the Pula Region - Barban

When you come across a multitude of dancers, singers and musicians in traditional Istrian costume in the streets of Barban, a small town between Pula and Labin, you will know that you are at the Festival of Folk Music and Dance of the Pula Region.

The local square is transformed into the central venue of entertainment and fun, with people singing and dancing to the rhythm of numerous folk groups and solo performers who keep traditional music alive.

The sounds of the rozenice (oboe-like instrument), mih (bagpipe), surla (clarinet-like instrument) and two-part singing (high and low) make the Barban region an inviting destination on the first Saturday of July.
